Meet The Executives



Jessica Bennett - Founder of C3



Jessica recently graduated from the Cell Biology program at the University of Alberta. She has been involved in STEAM advocacy projects for the past 7 years, with the Canada CyberSTEAM Challenge being the 10th large-scale interdisciplinary STEAM competition she has organized. Jessica was inspired to found C3 to provide an easy-to-access platform for students across Canada to explore the possibilities of STEAM from their own home. Outside of trying out C3 challenges, Jessica enjoys spending her spare time cooking, kayaking, and playing flute.



Heidi Nwosu -
Co-Director of
Remote STEAM



Heidi is currently in fourth year of a Bachelor of Science degree specializing in Cell Biology at the University of Alberta. She has been a part of C3 as a task designer since C3 started and now she is working as Co- Director of Remote STEAM, specializing in Marathon challenges! She loves all things science and technology related and looks forward to any activity that involves integrative learning that is accessible for all. Outside of that, she enjoys listening to music, watching movies and playing the piano!



Ashwath Puchakatla - Co-Director of
Remote Steam



Ashwath is the Co-Director of Remote Steam Specializing in Sprints and Intermediate Tasks! He is going into his third year at University of Alberta, and studying to gain his Bachelor of Science with a Specialization in Psychology. All aspects of STEAM have been extremely influential to him growing up, so C3 holds a special place in his heart. When he is not studying or volunteering, he is watching anime or listening to hip-hop/R&B music.



Angie Chen - Director of Demonstrations and Outreach



Angie is currently a first year PhD student in Oncology at the University of Alberta who obtained a Bachelor of Science in Physiology with Honours last year. She has been working as the Director of Demonstrations and Outreach for the past 3 years first with YSIC and now with C3 as well. She is passionate about teaching students of all ages various STEAM topics while promoting the fun and excitement associated with learning. Outside of volunteering, she enjoys playing video games and writing stories!



Ilsa Bhatti - Director of Logistics



Ilsa is a student at the University of Alberta currently in her first year of a Master's program in Oncology. Her undergraduate degree was in Physiology with Honours. She really enjoys talking about all things STEAM and hopes to inspire more youth to get involved with such exciting fields! She has previously participated in outreach for various interdisciplinary science events, and this year she is the Director of Logistics for both YSIC and C3. She really looks forward to igniting a passion for STEAM in our event participants! During her free time, she enjoy making digital art or admiring birds.



Sai Panidarapu - Webmaster



Sai is a third year student at the University of Alberta studying pharmacology. Sai was first introduced to Teamup Science in Grade 10 when he took part in the medical science workshop, and since joining university has worked in various portfolios of teamupscience such as Events, Finance, and YSIC/C3! Apart from his degree, Sai takes part in cardiac metabolism research at the Heritage Medical Research Center. In his spare time, Sai enjoys playing and occasionally coaching badminton and volleyball, as well as video editing.



David Yang -
Assistant Director of Demonstrations and Outreach



David is currently a first year student in the faculty of science at the University of British Columbia, and he is part of a specialized first-year program called Science One where he will be able to pursue his passions in STEM research and exploration. Outside of academics, he has been working towards creating a more inclusive environment for teens to explore STEM by working as a student ambassador in grade 12 and founding a TeamUP Science branch in UBC this year. Outside of work, he loves playing basketball and working out at the gym!



Maryam Khan - Assistant Director of Demonstrations and Outreach



Maryam is currently in her third year studying Health Science with Biology at Western University. As she is passionate about STEAM, she looks forward to connect and engage with the youth community in the Southern Ontario region. Maryam believes equal opportunity in STEAM education and access is vital for young individuals. In her leisure time, she enjoys hiking and baking.
